Matthew 24:29-30

King James Version

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who are dead (1 Thessalonians 4:15)[30]

  1. The dead in Christ will resurrect first (1 Thessalonians 4:16).[31]

  2. The living and the resurrected dead will be caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17).[32]

  3. It occurs in the parousia: "those who are alive and remain unto the coming (παρουσία) of the Lord, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:15–17, KJV).[33]

  4. The meeting with the Lord will be permanent: "And so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 T Thessalonians 4:17, KJV).[34] 1 Corinthians 15:52 ESVin a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
